Under the leadership of Madagascar’s Office National de Nutrition (ONN), and in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), UNICEF and German cooperation (BMZ/KFW), Tanjaka Food joined the main nutrition players in Madagascar in November 2024 to validate the results of the food cost analysis as part of the Fill the Nutrient Gap (FNG) process.
Fill the Nutrient Gap is an analytical and strategic tool developed by the WFP which aims at:
- Identifying barriers preventing populations, particularly vulnerable groups, from accessing nutritious food.
- Gathering evidence and mobilizing stakeholders to design effective interventions.
- Prioritizing multi-sectoral solutions to improve nutrition outcomes.
The analysis highlights the economic barriers to accessing a balanced diet. It also proposes concrete multi-sector solutions to overcome these challenges.
Solutions to fight malnutrition in Madagascar
Tanjaka Food produces ready-to-use nutritional solutions for the treatment and prevention of malnutrition (RUTF).
It also handles the distribution circuit to supply national and international NGOs.
