We are committed to protecting and preserving our planet.
Our dedication to the environment is reflected in our efforts to responsibly manage waste, reduce its generation, and conserve water and energy resources through efficiency projects, solar energy, and biomass. In addition, we contribute to the regeneration of biodiversity by combating climate challenges through reforestation initiatives and by promoting composting to enrich the soil.
Our initiatives
to minimize the environmental impact of our operations
JB SOLAR COMMITMENT
The Amboditsiry factory partially operates using solar energy
LECOTREE
Reforestation initiative with our vegetable producers partners
Water Treatment
All wastewater is treated in compliance with current standards before being safely returned to nature.
100% of wastewater is treated at our 2 production sites
Innovative recycling initiatives: soap production
Used frying oils are recycled and converted into soap for washing laundry at the factory.
Waste raw materials (biscuits, sweets) are recycled and transformed into disinfectant used within the factory.
1600 soap bars (1kg each) in 2024.
2750 liters of disinfectant produced in 2024.
Innovative recycling initiatives – paving blocks
Plastic waste transformed into paving blocks for the streets of Amboditsiry.
Partners: Gypsum, AIM’ALA
40 tons of plastic recycled annually since
since 2021
Solar JB
The Amboditsiry factory operates partially thanks to solar energy.

20% of the factory’s energy needs covered
Waste sorting
Accessible sorting bins and daily-use awareness campaigns.
220,000 kg of waste sorted to date.
Reforestation
Every year, our employees and their families take part in reforestation initiatives: helping preserve biodiversity and pass on ecological values to future generations.
6 000 trees planted.
Biogas
Recovering organic waste by converting it into renewable energy through a biogas production system a sustainable alternative to traditional gas.
1 750 m³ of biogas produced since 2022.
Reducing water and energy consumption
Awareness campaigns and monthly reminders to encourage responsible use of resources.
1 internal communication per month.
Reducing plastic waste
Elimination of plastic bottles across all our sites by installing drinking water fountains and providing each employee with a reusable water bottle.
0 plastic bottles since 2023
100% of employees equipped with a water bottle
Reducing CO₂ emissions
In the transportation of our fresh produce, through innovative solutions that consume less diesel.
CO₂ emissions reduced by 15% or 60 tonnes
Responsible water management across the value chain
On farms: mulching, drip irrigation systems, sensor-based irrigation control In factories: consumption optimization and water recycling projects
-30% water saved thanks to mulching
4.7% water saved in industrial sites
11 200 m³ recycled in 2023
Waste reduction at source
Since 2022, eco-design of packaging and elimination of plastic in shipping materials
1 100 kg less cardboard used in 2023
Waste sorting and recovery
Food waste repurposed by employees for livestock feed
Metal waste recovered through donations
85% of organic and metal waste recycled
Greenhouse gas emissions reduction
2023 carbon footprint completed, covering scopes 1, 2, and 3
Low-carbon action plan and roadmap set through 2030
Reforestation
Reforestation actions to promote biodiversity and partially offset our GHG emissions.
480 000 living trees planted between 2017 and 2023
78 % survival rate
2 209 tCO2e sequestered cumulatively since 2017
Water, electricity, and energy management
Since 2024, our factory has maintained very low water consumption through two key actions: dry cleaning and the recirculation of cooling water. We have successfully kept our water usage at just 0.5 m³ per ton of finished product
Eat & Play Box
The TANJAKA FOOD product box transforms into a toy, supporting socio-emotional development while being environmentally friendly.
